In our attempts to fathom and to personally reconstruct the most powerful and transforming aspects of the lost ancient Northern Traditions, we investigate all legacies of the Indo-European traditions. This handmade pendant of the Slavic pagan tradition, but sacred to all Northern Indo-European traditions. It is the Kolovrat or in Polish słoneczko (“little sun”) and represents the Sun. It is familiar with almost every ancient Northern culture. Here we encounter the powerful solar symbol of the ancient Slavs, known as fierce warriors sanctified to the wolf and bear cults and runic mysteries. They were known for their orgiastic seething and howling as magical shaman hunters, using potent herbs and techniques of ecstasy for battle, sorcery and to compel the forces of nature.
Out of this tradition comes this potent talisman, hand forged by our smith partner using nine herbs of Vodan (Odin) in the pressing and forging. This is transforming this from a piece of jewelry to a real traditional talisman using ancient techniques and herbs, linking this symbol to a shared Northern Heritage. We must regain these traditions by investigating all the vestiges of the tribal lore. These symbol have historic precedents dating back at least 12,000 years, and one of the earliest cultures that are known to have used the symbols was a Neolithic culture in Southern Europe, in the area that is now Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, known as the Vinca Culture, which dates back around 8,000 years. Indo European nations in this case the Slavs and Vedic culture of Indo-Aryans attached great importance to the cross-like objects in history.This is a symbol of cycles, of the eternal return of the seasons, the solar year, the microcosmic aspects of a life in cyclic renewal.it is at the core of Indo-European astronomy, the interaction of the Spirit and Matter, Life and Death, Darkness or Light and Truth or Lies.
